MAL MENINGA STATE UNVIELED AT CANBERRA STADIUM

Today Mal Meninga was honoured at Canberra Stadium as Jon Stanhope MLA ACT Chief Minister and Minister for the Arts and Heritage unvieled the Mal Meninga Statue. The sculputure created by Cathy Weiszmann signigies the outstanding contribution Mal Meninga has made to Rugby League. The pose captures one of Mal's most triumphant moments of his playing career when he scores a late try in his last match for the Canberra Raiders - the 1994 Grand Final. Read more...

CANBERRA STADIUM MASTER PLAN

This section has been set up to give the community information on the master planning that is currently being undertaken for Canberra Stadium.

Canberra Stadium is a 25,000 capacity stadium that was initially developed in 1977 and was formally known as the Bruce Stadium.  It has an interesting history, having been through three phases since it was first developed.  It began life as an athletics stadium.

In accordance with the Territory’s objectives to improve sport and recreation opportunities, the ACT Government have launched a project to develop a master plan for the venue.
