CANBERRANS URGED TO SUPPORT
THE RAIDERS THIS WEEKEND
Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation, Andrew Barr, today encouraged Canberrans to support the Raiders ahead of their last home game of the season this Sunday against the Bulldogs at Canberra Stadium.
Sunday’s match kicks off at 2 pm and there is also a special training session open for members of the public tomorrow from 10 am at Canberra Stadium.
“The Raiders have surprised many of the so-called experts in the Sydney media with their form this season, but with a finals spot beckoning and their well-documented injury crisis I would urge people to help fill Canberra Stadium this weekend,” Mr Barr said.
“People will also have a chance to wish the Raiders’ players well in the lead up to the big game, with a special Captain’s Run being held tomorrow at 10 am.
“The open training session is being supported by local enterprises such as Dickson Tradies and the Construction, Forestry, Mining & Energy Union (CFMEU). Cam and Lisa from FM 106.3 will be broadcasting live and the Tradies will be providing a sausage sizzle with gold coin donations going towards local charities.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for families to bring their children down to see the Raiders players go through their paces. Players will be available for a chat and to sign autographs at the conclusion of their training session.”
